There are tons of apps on the iTunes app store. TONS. Just recently, the app store hit one billion downloads! With so much competition to be seen, and little up-front availability at easy advertising, developers need to find ways to stand out to the crowd.

The first thing users see when previewing apps is the icon. It should represent the whole experience as best it can, while standing out enough from other icons to give it a sense of presence in the sea of seemingly endless amounts of games, utilities, and fart machines.

I recently just found this article that talks a little more about it. They even mention Flu Fighter!

Enjoy!

>> Editorial: Icons, people, icons.

And Flu Fighter is still available on the iTunes App Store.
